Home to the world’s largest cinema screen and one of the most successful IMAX theatres globally. It is currently undergoing redevelopment with an even more impressive building an IMAX cinema currently being constructed in its place.

Imax, Maintaining its title as the world’s largest cinema screen, the all-new IMAX Sydney will be housed alongside a 588 room six-star W Hotel and 20,000 square metres of restaurants and retail. Upgrades to the cinema will see it become one of the world’s most advanced IMAX theatres with 430 luxury seats and the very latest laser IMAX projection and sound system.

Welding Services & Engineering is a Tier 1 steel Fabricator with a Sydney based metal fabrication plant, equipped to produce all sorts of products from furniture, to commercial shop fit-outs to large Railway projects.

Welding Services & Engineering was urgently contracted through Lidco to manufacture and supply structural steel solutions to the new Imax cinema complex in Darling harbour within 1 week. Welding Services was able to fabricate, primer and deliver to the site within 5 days to meet the customer’s requirements. Of these 12 meter 250x150x12mm custom RHS beams and cross braces for the New Imax Project in Darling Harbour were all fabricated Inhouse by Welding Services & Engineering.

The Structure and components were delivered ready to install on-site. Welding Services manufactured and supplied a range of innovative solutions to Imax Project which is truly a world-class building.
